Well let’s start from the begining…It was Dallas Market June 3, 2006 5:00 pm, Travis picked me up with news that we had to go to a magazine launch party, and the bad news was that I had to be ready by 6. Most of you know that I do not have the easiest time picking out my outfit and if I don’t like my outfit then I can be a little grumpy. Travis was also persistent that I should dress up and even had the a friend call to say his wife was dressing up and that we did not have to be there at 6 like he originally told Travis but 6:30. So like a good sport I reluctantly put on a dress and he tells me since we have a little time we should run by our house we are building. He then grabs a towel because we all know Trav and he thought the floors were getting scratched up, so he wanted to try and clean them, at least that was what he told me, he really just needed something to hide the ring box in. Once we get to the house He, towel in hand, fakes like he was trying to get a scratch out with the towel, I totally bought it, he then walks with me to the garage to pick out what side I wanted to park on. He goes down on a knee next to me and I started to go down with him, (I thought he had a tummy ache) He moves over some scrap wood and stamped in the concrete of our home is “Travis and Steph WYMM” I just glanced at it and thought it was maybe our initials, and “God bless this house” or “WWJD” or something, but as soon as I looked at him I knew what was happening. He then took out the box from the famous towel. I don’t remember exactly what he said, cause I was in shock, but we had the most special, teary moment and I will never forget that feeling of how much he loves me. He took me to dinner at Nick and Sam’s at the back table, which was full of roses and candles. Unfortunately we could not eat we were overwhelmed with joy and we both could not hold back the tears long enough to take a bite. After dinner he asked me if I would like to go have a glass of wine somewhere and I said sure. As we were driving out of the restaurant we went about a block and he said “any particular place? I said anywhere would be fine, staring at my new ring and thinking who I would call first, he then said “How bout here?” and pointed at the Capital Grill, I replied “sure” wherever is fine! So he turned in the Capital Grill at the Crescent. When I walked in, every special friend and most of the wedding party was there with champagne and more roses, I was totally surprised!! What a wonderful night, we had an immediate engagement party with toasts from Brittany and Collins. I could not have asked or anything more. He did such a wonderful job and even asked my daddy before hand which is very important for us Louisiana girls. He is a wonderful man and I cannot wait till he is my husband.
